The Tokyo Olympics may have been delayed a year by the pandemic but that doesn’t mean we have to stand still. pure technology group (PTG) has partnered with BackleyBlack to deliver a new and innovative training programme to its leadership team.

As some of you may remember Roger Black MBE was kind enough to give the headline speech at pt19 on teamwork and building on that PTG has partnered with BackleyBlack, a coaching company run by Roger and Olympian and former World Record holder for the Javelin, Steve Backley. BackleyBlack has a simple philosophy: to increase and sustain performance through training and development that makes a difference.

Steve and Roger, upon retiring from sport, wanted to work with an experienced business coach who could help with the translation of the performance insights into the world of business. They teamed up with Paul Mallinson in 2007 and have developed a close and effective business relationship; Paul is a key part of the Mind-Setting Programme through his insights on various topics and practical examples of how to translate the practices into your own world.

The training for the PTG leadership team focusses on mindset training, embedding the principles of Olympic excellence within a team whilst coaching improvement and development.  The course is 8 weeks in duration and delivered by short, sharp video lessons with tasks for each person between each lesson.  The conclusion is a private Microsoft Teams session with Roger, Steve and our participants to analyse the lessons, gains and results from the programme.

Delivered completely remotely the programme meets many needs, especially during physical distancing.

PTG is founded on a culture of continuous investment in the development of our people.  #OneTeam
