IT sector growth continues at an ever-increasing rate - 13.2% growth in the UK alone is fuelling increased competition for the best talent in the industry. As a result, going to greater lengths to engage great people is becoming a necessity.
The global nature of the Tech sector continues to offer limitless career opportunities, including relocation to those looking to develop their professional experience, whilst enjoying the benefits of an expat lifestyle.
Inevitably however, many of those who go on the journey will decide it’s time for a new chapter in their story and return home for a host of reasons. In 2018, 48,000 UK citizens returned home compared to 343,000 who left to move overseas. This presents us with a unique opportunity to bring great people back into the fold!
A great example of someone deciding that there is no place like home, is pure technology group’s first international hire - Simon Luczka, who joins us under the role of Business Manager at our Wigan office.
Having spent the last 3 years in Canada working for leading regional MSP, Softchoice, Simon recently made the decision to come back to UK to settle permanently having tasted the overseas experience. Having spent 4 years in a BDM role with leading MSP ANS Group, Simon was an obvious choice for us.
Simon’s outlook on his time in Canada and on the move back to the UK was typically positive:
“I made the decision to move to Toronto, Canada to broaden my work and living experience, making the move in January 2017.
Having come from a technical sales background, I was keen to stay in the industry but to try a new market and expand on my existing skills and knowledge.
Experiencing another culture, with sports very much at its heart has been incredible - a highlight being, witnessing Toronto Raptors become the NBA champions last year!
I’m excited to get back to the UK, to be closer to family and friends again, and to hit the ground running at PTG.”
