Forever Manchester is a Manchester-based charity that raises money to fund community activity across Greater Manchester. They support a huge range of activities that help young people, older people and disabled people, in addition to homelessness, sports, environmental, education, and cancer support projects, plus everything in between. Forever Manchester works with local communities to inspire and encourage projects that they want to see, to make their neighbourhoods happier, healthier and safer places to be.



Forever Manchester were facing constraints due to their existing IT support company not being as responsive as they required. This, along with a slow turnaround time on issues logged was proving difficult for the organisation to get the level of support and attention they needed. Forever Manchester required a more reliable and available IT support partner with to provide service delivery that they needed. 


An on-premise Exchange environment was proving costly and unreliable due to its age. The functionality of on-premise Exchange was limited, and the organisation sought advice and recommendations for newer technologies that they should be using moving forward. 


Forever Manchester also wanted a better and more secure solution for their backup needs. Due to the increasing amount of cyber threats, the charity also wanted to make sure that their data was securely protected.



After being recommended to Forever Manchester by Zen Office, pure technology group (PTG) implemented support service for Forever Manchester which offers a comprehensive range of Support and Professional Services. This includes a sub-3 second response time and IT experts at a moment’s notice. PTG recommended a migration from on-premise Exchange to Microsoft 365; a Cloud hosted platform which provides the latest versions of Microsoft software, on demand along with online applications. O365 allows Forever Manchester to view and edit documents on the go, access content, conversations, tasks or schedules from any trusted device while keeping data secure.


Forever Manchester also chose backup; a cloud backup service that uploads and stores data off-site to military encryption standards at PTG’s UK datacentres. Backup’s autonomic healing feature checks the consistency of backups on a daily basis, and PTG has a 100% recovery record from its cloud backup infrastructure. This provided peace of mind with regard to security of data.



Forever Manchester and PTG have created a relationship with multiple benefits based around proactive technical account management. By switching to O365, Forever Manchester now has easier access to email, and documents are no longer reliant on single on-site server. Data is automatically backed-up off-site and all of the above are provided on a subscription OpEx model allowing Forever Manchester to budget and manage their IT costs more effectively, whilst enhancing staff experience with IT.
