pure technology group is proud to support and promote Candlelighters Trust. Founded in 1976 by families and medical staff, Candlelighters continues to help support children suffering with cancer and their families.

Proceeds go towards the funding of research, family holidays, grants and additional services within the hospital and vital support for families battling children’s cancer. Candlelighters involve themselves in all kinds of projects, providing aid for ordinary families experiencing difficult circumstances.

Each year pure technology group commits a targeted amount to donate to Candlelighters and has worked hard to increase the level of donation year on year. Fundraising events include Children’s Christmas Parties, Fancy Dress and physical challenges such as climbing Mount Snowdon. Christmas Jumper day in support of Candlelighters is popular but the sartorial taste is questionable to say the least. Many pure technology group staff kindly donate direct from salary at the end of every month through a Group Giving Scheme.   The group is proud to support such a great charity, which makes a huge difference to children’s lives and looks forward to continued year-on-year support.

company of the year

We’re thrilled to announce that on Friday 09th September 2016, the pure technology group attended the very first Candlelighters Awards, an event designed to say thank you to all the people who help Candlelighters shine more brightly. Not only did we attend the event, but the pure technology group received the award for ‘Company of the Year 2016’ after being nominated and shortlisted to three. We’d like to thank each and every one of our employees, customers and stakeholders that have been involved in any way, helping Candlelighters make a difference to families affected by childrens cancer across Yorkshire.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in sponsored walks, those who have sponsored us, and those who have bought raffle tickets. Thank you to everyone who has taken to the kitchen and baked, (or even cheated a little and bought cakes) to contribute to our annual ‘Cake Bake’. Thank you to Marco Vercelli for dressing as a pink gorilla and participating in the Great North Run. Thank you to all those who have regularly contributed from their monthly salary. Every one of you have helped make a difference and our combined efforts have been noticed and recognised in many ways. The oncology ward at Leeds General Infirmary use 10 tablets that were donated by us as a distraction method when children undergo their treatments. The ward also still utilises a PlayStation that one of our team members donated.

So, what's next? This year will be even bigger and better then the last; the pure technology group, constantly strives for improvement in every aspect of it’s business. Thank you so much Candlelighters for honouring us with this award; we look forward to another fantastic year of effort and fundraising, because ‘together we CAN fight childrens cancer’.
